Green Drinks - No, it's not a funny colored alcoholic beverage served on St. Patrick's Day
Green Drinks is a loosely affiliated network of environmental / green themed gatherings held in 433 cities around the world. A monthly meet up of like-minded individuals looking to share, collaborate and network green. According to Wikipedia, Green Drinks was started in London in 1989, by Edwin Datschefski and friends. It's a great way to share and meet with other greenies in your community. Discussions can range from alternative energy technologies, green building techniques, collaborating on getting local communities to adopt green practices to a who's who of local green businesses. Just bring your ideas and say you're green.
If you are in the Delaware County, PA area, please stop by our next meeting on February 11th from 6-9 at the Brodeur's Restaurant in Media, PA. Just ask the hostess where the Green Drinks group is sitting and she'll point you our way. We will welcome you to the discussion and introduce you to who's there.
Starting in March, we will be meeting the 1st Wednesday of every month and joining under the umbrella of the larger Delaware Valley Green Drinks group.
The Delaware Valley Green Drinks website is: http://greendrinksdelawarevalley.blogspot.com/ There you can find a list of the other 4 locations in the Delaware Valley area. Media will be listed on there sometime this month as a 5th location.
