CLEAN UP, GREEN UP DAY IN MEDIA 4/18/09

Enjoy a day of activities and service projects including a rain barrel installation, Cigarette Litter Clean-Up, Houtman Park tour, Tree-Shrub-Flower tour and Americana Roots Ramble.
10am – Rain Barrel Unveiling near Tot Lot by the Community Hall Featuring river and rain themed poetry read by students from Nativity BVM, songs by the Mustang Chorale of Media Elementary School, and a presentation by students of Media Providence Friends School. //
12noon – 2 pm - Cigarette Litter Clean-Up by the Penncrest Busted! Group and other students from area high schools. Anyone is welcome to join this effort. Meet at noon at Borough Hall parking lot at 4th and Jackson Streets.
10:45am – 11:45 am - Installation of Rain Barrels at the Media-Providence Public Library.
1:30pm – Houtman Park Tour Led by Art Brown of the Media Recreation Board and Borough Council member Monica Simpson. Meet at State and Olive Streets in front of the Franklin Mint Bank.
3 pm –Tree, Shrub, and Flower Tour Led by Marcia Tate, gardener, photographer, and Media Environmental Advisory Council member. Meet at the Third Street entrance to Media Borough Hall.
